Palmyra Borough is a borough located in Burlington County, New Jersey, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of the borough was 7091 as per the 2000 census data. The borough's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7350, making it New Jersey's 231st largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 2.42 mi˛ (6.27 square kilometre), of which, 1.98 square miles (5.13 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.44 square miles (1.14 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 250th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7091 people, 457 households, and 284 families residing in the borough. The population density was 3586.9 people per square mile (1384.91/km˛), it is 188th most densely populated borough in New Jersey. There were 3219 housing units at an average density of 1625.8 per square mile (627.72/km˛). The average household size was 2.36 persons, and the average family size was 3.02 persons. In the borough Age distribution was 22.3% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 23.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.8 males. The median age was 38 years, The median age of males was 36.4 years, for females the median age was 39.4 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 80.99% White, 14.34% Black or African American, 0.3% American Indian, 1.4% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, 1.52% from two or more races and 1.41% Other races.
