Palm Coast City is a one of the Flagler County, Florida, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 32732. Its population was estimated at 72316 in July 2008, giving it the 82nd largest population among Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 51.7 sq mi (133.9 square kilometre ), of which, 50.72 square miles (131.36 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.98 square miles (2.54 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 18th largest by total area in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 32732 people in the city, organized into 13628 households, and 10533 families residing in the city. The population density was 645.4 people per square mile (249.19/kmē), making its Florida's 208th least densely populated city. There were 14929 housing units at an average density of 294.3 per square mile (113.63/kmē). The average household size was 2.38 people, and the average family size was 2.68 people. The population's age distribution was 18.5% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 19.7% from 25 to 44, 26.9% from 45 to 64, and 30.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.6 males. The median age was 51.2 years, the median age of male residents at 50.2 and the median age of female residents at 51.9. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 85.04% White, 10.27% Black or African American, 0.24% American Indian, 1.52% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, 1.68% from two or more races and 1.23% Other races.
