Page County is one of the 99 county of Iowa, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of the county was 16976 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 15664, It is 48th most populous county in Iowa. It is spread over 535.35 sq mi (1386.55 square kilometre), of which, 534.82 square miles (1385.18 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.52 square miles (1.35 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 64th largest by total area in Iowa.

As of the census of 2000, there were 16976 people in the county, organized into 6708 households, and 4459 families residing in the county. The population density was 31.7 people per square mile (12.24/kmē), making its Iowa's 41st most densely populated county. There were 7302 housing units at an average density of 13.7 per square mile (5.29/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.32 persons, and the average family size was 2.87 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.3% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 102.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 15664, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 95.62% White, 2% Black or African American, 0.61% American Indian, 0.89% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.87% from two or more races.
