Owyhee County, Idaho is a county of the United States of Idaho. Owyhee County had an official population of 10644 in 2000. The July 2008 population estimate is 10877, It is the 26th most populous county in the U.S. state of Idaho. It has total area of 7696.71 sq mi (19934.39 kmē), of which, 7677.98 square miles (19885.88 kmē) of it is land and 18.72 square miles (48.48 kmē) of it is water, makes it the second largest by total area in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10644 people, 3710 households, and 2756 families residing in the county. The population density was 1.4 people per square mile (0.54/kmē), making its Idaho's fifth least densely populated county. There were 4452 housing units at an average density of 0.6 per square mile (0.23/kmē). The average household size was 2.85 people, and the average family size was 3.35 people. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 31.9% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 109 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.6 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 10877, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 10209 White, 27 Black or African American, 380 American Indian, 51 Asian, 20 Native Hawaiian, and 190 from two or more races.
