Overton County is a county located in Tennessee, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 20118 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 20975, It is the 63rd largest county by population in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The county spans an area of 434.82 sq mi (1126.18 sq km), of which, 433.38 square miles (1122.45 sq km) of it is land and 1.43 square miles (3.7 sq km) of it is water, making it Tennessee's 52nd largest county by total area.

In the Overton County, 23% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.4% were 18 to 24, 27.7% were 25 to 44, 25.9% were 45 to 64, and 15% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.1 males.
