Otter Tail County is a one of the county from Minnesota's 87 counties, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 57159 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 56786 in July 2008, It is the 16th largest in terms of population. The county spans an area of 2224.91 square miles (5762.49 kmē), of which, 1979.71 square miles (5127.43 kmē) of it is land and 245.2 square miles (635.07 kmē) of it is water, giving it the eighth largest by total area among Minnesota's county. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Minnesota.

The population density was 28.9 people per square mile (11.16/kmē), it is the 41st most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
