Ottawa County is a one of the county from Kansas's 105 counties, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 6163. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 6026, making it Kansas's 60th largest county. The county has a total area of 721.9 sq mi (1869.71 square kilometre), of which, 721.11 square miles (1867.67 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.79 square miles (2.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 58th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.

The population density was 8.5 people per square mile (3.28/kmē), making it the 57th most densely populated county in Kansas. There were 2755 housing units at an average density of 3.8 per square mile (1.47/kmē). The average household size was 2.46 people, and the average family size was 2.96 people. In the county Age distribution was 25.7% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.9 males.
