Otoe County is a one of the county from Nebraska's 93 counties, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 15396 as per the Census data. Its population was estimated at 15549 in July 2008, making it Nebraska's 19th largest county. The county comprises an area of 619.09 mi˛ (1603.44 square kilometre), of which, 615.69 square miles (1594.63 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.4 square miles (8.81 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 43rd largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 25 people per square mile (9.65/km˛), making it the 19th most densely populated county in Nebraska. There were 6567 housing units at an average density of 10.7 per square mile (4.13/km˛). The average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 3.01 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 26.3% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.8 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 15549, The racial makeup of the county was 98.03% White, 0.56% Black or African American, 0.28% American Indian, 0.36% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.73% from two or more races.
