Oswego County is a county located in New York, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 122377 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 121395, It is the 24th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 1312.18 sq mi (3398.53 square kilometre), of which, 953.3 square miles (2469.04 square kilometre ) of it is land and 358.88 square miles (929.49 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 14th largest by area in the U.S. state of New York. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in New York.

The population density was 128.4 people per square mile (49.58/kmē), it is New York's 29th most densely populated county. There were 52831 housing units at an average density of 55.4 per square mile (21.39/kmē). The average household size was 2.6 persons, and the average family size was 3.08 persons. In the county Age distribution was 26.8% under the age of 18, 10.9% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 102.6 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106 females. Its population was estimated at 121395 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 96.94% White, 1.02% Black or African American, 0.47% American Indian, 0.52% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.03% from two or more races.
