Osceola County is a United States county located in the United States of Florida. In 2000, the population was 172493. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 263676, It is the 22nd largest county by population in the U.S. state of Florida. The county comprises an area of 1506.35 sq mi (3901.43 sq km), of which, 1321.9 square miles (3423.71 sq km) of it is land and 184.45 square miles (477.72 sq km) of it is water, giving it the eighth largest by total area among Florida's county.

Age range in the county was well distributed with 26.8% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 31% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 263676, The racial makeup of the county was 82.39% White, 11.7% Black or African American, 0.7% American Indian, 3.13% Asian, 0.16% Native Hawaiian, and 1.91% from two or more races.
