Osage County is a county located in the United States of Kansas. The population of the county was 16712 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 16327, giving it the 32nd largest population among Kansas's county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 719.23 square miles (1862.8 kmē), of which, 703.5 square miles (1822.06 kmē) of it is land and 15.72 square miles (40.71 kmē) of it is water, it is the 63rd largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks ninth in the size of its inland waterways in Kansas.

According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 16327, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 96.89% White, 0.71% Black or African American, 0.78% American Indian, 0.22% Asian, 0.09% Native Hawaiian, and 1.3% from two or more races.
