Ortonville City is one of the city of Big Stone and Lac qui Parle counties, Minnesota, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 2158 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 1974 in July 2008, It is the 230th most populous in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Its area is just over 3.45 square miles (8.94 square kilometre), of which, 3.39 square miles (8.78 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 209th largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
