Oroville City is a one of the Butte County, California, located in Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 13004 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 14684, making it the 386th most populous in California. Its area is just over 12.27 sq mi (31.78 square kilometre), of which, 12.25 square miles (31.73 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 276th largest by total area in California.

As of the census of 2000, there were 13004 people in the city, organized into 4881 households, and 2946 families living in the city. The population density was 1061.4 people per square mile (409.81/kmē), making its California's 679th most densely populated city.
