Orono City, Minnesota is a city of the Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. Orono City had an official population of 7538 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 7732, making it Minnesota's 101st largest. It covers total area of 25.01 miē (64.78 kmē), of which, 16.08 square miles (41.65 kmē) of it is land and 8.94 square miles (23.15 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 53rd largest by total area among Minnesota. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Minnesota.
