Its population was estimated at 230519 in July 2008, It is the sixth largest by population in the U.S. state of Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 100.95 sq mi (261.46 sq km ), of which, 93.5 square miles (242.16 sq km) of it is land and 7.46 square miles (19.32 sq km) of it is water, it is the fifth largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.
