Oregon County, Missouri is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Oregon County had an official population of 10344 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 10264, It is Missouri's 32nd least populous county. The county encompasses an area of 791.59 mi˛ (2050.21 square kilometre ), of which, 791.4 square miles (2049.72 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.18 square miles (0.47 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 14th largest by area in the U.S. state of Missouri.


According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 10344 people, 4263 households, and 3018 families residing in the county. The population density was 13.1 people per square mile (5.06/km˛), making its Missouri's 15th least densely populated county. There were 4997 housing units at an average density of 6.3 per square mile (2.43/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.4 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons. In the Oregon County, 24.3% of the population was under the age of 18, 7% were 18 to 24, 24.1% were 25 to 44, 26.5% were 45 to 64, and 18% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 10264, The racial makeup of the county was 94.19% White, 0.37% Black or African American, 3.02% American Indian, 0.14% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 2.27% from two or more races.
