Oregon City, Lucas County, Ohio is a city located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The city has a population of 19355 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 18921 in July 2008, making it Ohio's 90th largest. The city extends throughout a territory of 38.09 sq mi (98.65 sq km ), of which, 29.38 square miles (76.09 sq km) of it is land and 8.71 square miles (22.56 sq km) of it is water, it is the seventh largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 19355 people in the city, organized into 7708 households, and 5317 families residing in the city. The population density was 658.8 people per square mile (254.36/kmē), giving it the 175th least densely populated city among the Ohio. There were 8025 housing units at an average density of 273.1 per square mile (105.44/kmē). The average household size was 2.47 persons, and the average family size was 3 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 24.1% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 108.8 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 114 females. The median age was 39.6 years, the median age of male residents at 38.2 and the median age of female residents at 40.9. The racial makeup of the city was 94.91% White, 1% Black or African American, 0.14% American Indian, 0.7% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 1.52% from two or more races and 1.72% Other races.
