In July 2008, its estimated population was 13224, making it South Carolina's 35th largest. It is spread over 8.3 square miles (21.5 square kilometre), of which, 8.29 square miles (21.47 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, making it South Carolina's 56th largest by total area.
