Orange County is a one of the county from Florida's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The county has a population of 896344 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 1072801, making it Florida's fifth largest county. It is spread over 1004.19 square miles (2600.84 square kilometre), of which, 907.45 square miles (2350.28 square kilometre ) of it is land and 96.74 square miles (250.56 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 23rd largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 987.8 people per square mile (381.39/kmē), making its Florida's sixth most densely populated county. There were 361349 housing units at an average density of 398.2 per square mile (153.75/kmē). The average household size was 2.61 people, and the average family size was 3.14 people. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.3% under the age of 18, 10.9% from 18 to 24, 33.8% from 25 to 44, 20% from 45 to 64, and 10% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.7 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1072801, The racial makeup of the county was 774212 White, 222954 Black or African American, 5686 American Indian, 48155 Asian, 1819 Native Hawaiian, and 19975 from two or more races.
