Orange City City is a United States city located in the Volusia County, Florida, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 6604 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 9799 in July 2008, It is the 357th largest by population in the U.S. state of Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 6.12 miē (15.85 kmē ), of which, 6.05 square miles (15.67 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, it is the 286th largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 6604 residents, 3062 households, and 1906 families in the city. The population density was 1091.4 people per square mile (421.39/kmē), it would be the 567th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Florida. There were 3685 housing units at an average density of 609.1 per square mile (235.17/kmē). The average household size was 2.12 people, and the average family size was 2.63 people.
