Onondaga County, New York is a county located in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 458336 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 452633, It is the 11th largest in terms of population. The county spans an area of 805.69 sq mi (2086.73 kmē), of which, 780.29 square miles (2020.94 kmē) of it is land and 25.4 square miles (65.79 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 32nd largest by total area among New York's county.

The population density was 587.4 people per square mile (226.8/kmē), giving it the 13th most densely populated county among the New York.
