Old Town City is a town located in Penobscot County, Maine, in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 8130. The town's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7709, making it Maine's 19th largest. The town extends throughout a territory of 42.67 square miles (110.51 sq km ), of which, 38.29 square miles (99.17 sq km) of it is land and 4.37 square miles (11.32 sq km) of it is water, makes it the seventh largest by total area in Maine. It is ranks seventh in the size of its inland waterways in Maine.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 8130 people, 3426 households, and 1994 families residing in the town. The population density was 212.3 people per square mile (81.97/kmē), making it the 13th least densely populated town in Maine. There were 3686 housing units at an average density of 96.3 per square mile (37.18/kmē). The average household size was 2.3 persons, and the average family size was 2.83 persons. In the town Age distribution was 20% under the age of 18, 18.3% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.8 males. The median age is 33.8 years, the median age of male residents at 31.8 and the median age of female residents at 35.4. The racial or ethnic makeup of the town was 7693 White, 53 Black or African American, 120 American Indian, 149 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, 89 from two or more races and 23 Ohter races.
