Oklahoma is a state of the United States. The state has a population of 3450654 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the state is 3642361, It is the 27th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 69898.19 mi˛ (181035.48 sq km), of which, 68667.06 square miles (177846.87 sq km ) of it is land and 1231.13 square miles (3188.61 sq km) of it is water, making it United States's 20th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3450654 people in the state, organized into 1342293 households, and 921750 families residing in the state. The population density was 50.3 people per square mile (19.42/km˛), giving it the 16th least densely populated state among the United States. There were 1514400 housing units at an average density of 22.1 per square mile (8.53/km˛). The average household size was 2.49 persons, and the average family size was 3.02 persons. In the state Age distribution was 25.9% under the age of 18, 10.3% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 103.5 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106.6 females. The median age is 35.5 years, the median age of male residents at 33.9 and the median age of female residents at 36.9. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the state is 3450654, The racial or ethnic makeup of the state was 2628434 White, 260968 Black or African American, 273230 American Indian, 46767 Asian, 2372 Native Hawaiian, 155985 from two or more races and 82898 Ohter races.
