Ohio County is a county located in the United States of Kentucky. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 22916 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 23789, It is Kentucky's 51st most populous county. The county extends throughout a territory of 596.73 sq mi (1545.52 square kilometre ), of which, 593.79 square miles (1537.91 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.94 square miles (7.61 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the fifth largest by total area among Kentucky's county.

It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 23789, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.8% White, 1.02% Black or African American, 0.2% American Indian, 0.2% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.75% from two or more races.
