Ohio County is a county located in the United States of Indiana. It is home to over 5623 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 5773, It is the least populous county in the U.S. state of Indiana. The county has a total area of 87.47 square miles (226.55 kmē), of which, 86.72 square miles (224.6 kmē) of it is land and 0.75 square miles (1.94 kmē) of it is water, making it the smallest by size in Indiana.


According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 5623 people, 2201 households, and 1588 families residing in the county. The population density was 64.8 people per square mile (25.02/kmē), making its Indiana's 30th least densely populated county.
