Ocean Springs City is a city in the Jackson County, Mississippi, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 17225 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 17149, It is the 22nd largest by population in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The city has a total area of 15.23 square miles (39.45 sq km), of which, 11.64 square miles (30.15 sq km) of it is land and 3.59 square miles (9.3 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 36th largest by total area among Mississippi. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in Mississippi.

The population density was 1479.9 people per square mile (571.39/kmē), it is the 41st most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Mississippi. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 26.3% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.3 males. The median age is 37.5 years, The median age of males was 36.5 years, for females the median age was 38.3 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 87.74% White, 7.03% Black or African American, 0.4% American Indian, 2.63% Asian, 0.08% Native Hawaiian, 1.5% from two or more races and 0.63% Other races.
