Oakland Town is a town located in the Garrett County, Maryland, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1930 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 1844 in July 2008, making it the 239th most populous in Maryland. The town spans an area of 2.12 mi˛ (5.49 sq km), of which, 2.11 square miles (5.46 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 221st largest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1930 residents, 787 households, and 448 families in the town. The population density was 915.7 people per square mile (353.55/km˛), giving it the 93rd least densely populated town among the Maryland.
