Oakland Borough is a borough in the Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. It is home to over 12466 people (2000 census). The borough's estimated population as of July 2008 was 13312, It is New Jersey's 126th largest by population . The borough extends throughout a territory of 8.75 sq mi (22.66 square kilometre ), of which, 8.6 square miles (22.27 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.15 square miles (0.39 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 50th largest by total area in New Jersey.

The racial makeup of the borough was 94.76% White, 0.78% Black or African American, 0.06% American Indian, 2.7% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 0.99% from two or more races and 0.7% Other races.
