Oakes City is a city located in the Dickey County, North Dakota, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 1979 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 1763, It is 25th most populous in North Dakota. It is spread over 1.65 square miles (4.27 square kilometre), makes it the 47th largest by total area in North Dakota.
