Oakdale City, Allen Parish, Louisiana is a city located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 8137 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 8140, It is the 70th largest by population in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The city spans an area of 5.13 square miles (13.29 kmē), of which, 5.07 square miles (13.13 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, it is the 120th largest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8137 people in the city, organized into 400 households, and 290 families living in the city. The population density was 1603.6 people per square mile (619.15/kmē), giving it the 86th most densely populated city among the Louisiana.
