Oak Point City is a city in the Denton County, Texas, United States. The city has a population of 1747 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2963, making it the 128th least populous in Texas. The city encompasses an area of 5.94 sq mi (15.38 sq km ), of which, 5.7 square miles (14.76 sq km) of it is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 19th smallest by total area among Texas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1747 residents, 600 households, and 498 families in the city. The population density was 306.7 people per square mile (118.42/kmē), it is Texas's 196th least densely populated city. There were 640 housing units at an average density of 112.3 per square mile (43.36/kmē). The average household size was 2.91 persons, and the average family size was 3.22 persons.
