Oak Hill City is a one of the Davidson County, Tennessee, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 4493 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 5389 in July 2008, It is the 105th most populous in the U.S. state of Tennessee. Its area is just over 7.99 square miles (20.69 sq km), of which, 7.88 square miles (20.41 sq km) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 sq km) of it is water, it is the 115th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4493 people in the city, organized into 5369 households, and 3232 families residing in the city. The population density was 570.4 people per square mile (220.23/kmē), it is the 185th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Tennessee. There were 1894 housing units at an average density of 240.4 per square mile (92.82/kmē). The average household size was 2.47 people, and the average family size was 2.88 people. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 22.7% under the age of 18, 4% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 32% from 45 to 64, and 18.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92 males. The median age was 45.1 years, The median age of males and females living in Oak Hill City was 44.6 and 45.5 years respectively. The racial makeup of the city was 96.26% White, 0.98% Black or African American, 0.11% American Indian, 1.65% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, 0.71% from two or more races and 0.27% Other races.
