Novato City is one of the city of Marin County, California, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 47630. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 52785, It is the 162nd most populous in the U.S. state of California. It is spread over 28.26 square miles (73.19 square kilometre), of which, 27.7 square miles (71.74 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.55 square miles (1.42 square kilometre) of it is water, making it California's 95th largest by total area.
