Northumberland County is a county located in the United States of Pennsylvania. The county has a population of 94556 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 91091, making it Pennsylvania's 32nd largest county. The county spans an area of 477.38 square miles (1236.41 sq km), of which, 459.91 square miles (1191.16 sq km) of it is land and 17.47 square miles (45.25 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 20th smallest by total area among Pennsylvania's county. It is ranks seventh in the size of its inland waterways in Pennsylvania.

The population density was 205.6 people per square mile (79.38/kmē), giving it the 26th most densely populated county among the Pennsylvania. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 107.7 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 91091, The racial makeup of the county was 96.81% White, 2.08% Black or African American, 0.13% American Indian, 0.28% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.68% from two or more races.
