Northampton Borough is a one of the Northampton County, Pennsylvania, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of the borough was 9405 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 9841 in July 2008, It is 118th most populous in Pennsylvania. The borough has a total area of 2.7 square miles (6.99 kmē), of which, 2.6 square miles (6.73 kmē) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 249th largest by total area in Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9405 residents, 3869 households, and 2636 families in the borough. For every 100 males there were 109.5 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 116.1 females.
