North Star Cdp is a census designated place in the New Castle County, Delaware, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 8277 inhabitants. It is the 11th largest by population in the U.S. state of Delaware. The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 6.84 sq mi (17.72 square kilometre ), it is the seventh largest by area in the U.S. state of Delaware.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8277 residents, 2629 households, and 2407 families in the census designated place. The population density was 1209.5 people per square mile (466.99/kmē), it is 44th most densely populated census designated place in Delaware. There were 2651 housing units at an average density of 387.6 per square mile (149.65/kmē). The average household size was 3.15 and the average family size was 3.3. In the census designated place the population was spread out, with 31.4% under the age of 18, 5% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 30.7% from 45 to 64, and 5.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.7 males.
