North Sioux City City, South Dakota


North Sioux City City is a one of the Union County, South Dakota, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of the city was 2288 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2520, giving it the 34th largest population among South Dakota. The city comprises an area of 2.27 mi˛ (5.88 sq km), of which, 2.24 square miles (5.8 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, it is the 55th largest by area in the U.S. state of South Dakota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2288 people, 916 households, and 622 families residing in the city. The population density was 1021.7 people per square mile (394.48/km˛), it is the 100th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of South Dakota. There were 953 housing units at an average density of 425.4 per square mile (164.25/km˛). The average household size was 2.5 people, and the average family size was 2.99 people. Age range in the city was well distributed with 27.1% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 106.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.2 males. The median age was 33.6 years, the median age of male residents at 33 and the median age of female residents at 34.5. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 95.32% White, 0.61% Black or African American, 0.79% American Indian, 1.05% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, 1.62% from two or more races and 0.57% Other races.
