North Pole City, Alaska


North Pole City is a city located in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 1570 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 2212 in July 2008, It is the 45th most populous in the U.S. state of Alaska. The city encompasses an area of 4.22 mi˛ (10.93 sq km ), of which, 4.2 square miles (10.88 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 56th smallest by total area among Alaska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1570 people, 605 households, and 382 families living in the city. The population density was 373.6 people per square mile (144.25/km˛), it is the 19th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 653 housing units at an average density of 155.5 per square mile (60.04/km˛). The average household size was 2.58 people, and the average family size was 3.19 people. The population's age distribution was 29.8% under the age of 18, 13.2% from 18 to 24, 33.3% from 25 to 44, 18.5% from 45 to 64, and 5.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 110.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 115.2 males. The median age is 28.8 years, The median age of males was 28.4 years, for females the median age was 29.3 years. The racial makeup of the city was 1271 White, 89 Black or African American, 56 American Indian, 41 Asian, 7 Native Hawaiian, 88 from two or more races and 18 Ohter races.
