North English City is a city located in Iowa and Keokuk counties, Iowa, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 991. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 989, making it Iowa's 279th largest. The city has a total area of 0.56 sq mi (1.45 kmē), making it Iowa's 591st largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 991 people in the city, organized into 408 households, and 256 families residing in the city.
