Niobrara County is a county located in the United States of Wyoming. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 2407 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2428, giving it the smallest population among Wyoming's county. The county spans an area of 2627.9 sq mi (6806.23 kmē), of which, 2625.81 square miles (6800.82 kmē) of it is land and 2.09 square miles (5.41 kmē) of it is water, it is the 16th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2407 people in the county, organized into 1011 households, and 679 families residing in the county. The population density was 0.9 people per square mile (0.35/kmē), it is the least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Wyoming. There were 1338 housing units at an average density of 0.5 per square mile (0.19/kmē). The average household size was 2.28 people, and the average family size was 2.81 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 22.6% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 26% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 105 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 112.7 females. Its population was estimated at 2428 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 2389 White, 6 Black or African American, 15 American Indian, 2 Asian, 0 Native Hawaiian, and 16 from two or more races.
