Nicollet County is a county located in the United States of Minnesota. Nicollet County had an official population of 29771 in 2000. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 32027, It is the 32nd largest county by population in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is spread over 466.95 square miles (1209.39 square kilometre), of which, 452.29 square miles (1171.43 square kilometre ) of it is land and 14.65 square miles (37.94 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 16th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 29771 people in the county, organized into 10642 households, and 7309 families living in the county. The population density was 65.8 people per square mile (25.41/kmē), it is the 20th most populated county in terms of population density. There were 11240 housing units at an average density of 24.9 per square mile (9.61/kmē). The average household size was 2.56 persons, and the average family size was 3.05 persons. In the Nicollet County, 24.7% of the population was under the age of 18, 16.4% were 18 to 24, 26.9% were 25 to 44, 21.2% were 45 to 64, and 10.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.9 males.
