Niceville City is one of the city of Okaloosa County, Florida, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 11684 as per the Census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 12313, It is Florida's 238th largest by population . The city has a total area of 11.33 mi˛ (29.34 square kilometre), of which, 10.92 square miles (28.28 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.41 square miles (1.06 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 161st largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11684 people in the city, organized into 4637 households, and 3384 families living in the city. The population density was 1069.8 people per square mile (413.05/km˛), it is the 574th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Florida. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 23% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 27.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.1 males. The median age is 39.4 years, the median age of male residents at 38.3 and the median age of female residents at 40.4. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 10194 White, 535 Black or African American, 86 American Indian, 374 Asian, 13 Native Hawaiian, 349 from two or more races and 133 Ohter races.
