Niagara Falls City is a city in the Niagara County, New York, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 55593 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 51345 in July 2008, making it the 14th most populous in New York. The city has a total area of 16.8 square miles (43.51 square kilometre), of which, 14.05 square miles (36.39 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.75 square miles (7.12 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 24th largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks 20 in the size of its inland waterways in New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 55593 people in the city, organized into 24099 households, and 14258 families living in the city. The population density was 3955.7 people per square mile (1527.3/kmē), making its New York's 177th most densely populated city.
