Nez Perce County, Idaho is a county of the United States of Idaho. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 37410 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 38975, making it Idaho's ninth largest county. The county spans an area of 856.36 sq mi (2217.96 kmē), of which, 849.08 square miles (2199.11 kmē) of it is land and 7.28 square miles (18.86 kmē) of it is water, it is the 12th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 37410 people in the county, organized into 15286 households, and 10151 families residing in the county. The population density was 44.1 people per square mile (17.03/kmē), making its Idaho's eighth most densely populated county. There were 16203 housing units at an average density of 19.1 per square mile (7.37/kmē). The average household size was 2.4 people, and the average family size was 2.9 people. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 23.8% under the age of 18, 10% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 23% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 38975, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 35411 White, 223 Black or African American, 2180 American Indian, 405 Asian, 34 Native Hawaiian, and 722 from two or more races.
