Newton County is a one of the county from Indiana's 92 counties, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The county has a population of 14566 as per the 2000 census data. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 13933, It is the 11th smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Indiana. It has total area of 403.53 sq mi (1045.14 kmē), of which, 401.85 square miles (1040.79 kmē) of it is land and 1.68 square miles (4.35 kmē) of it is water, it is the 46th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.
