Newton City is one of the city of Jasper County, Iowa, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 15579 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 15042 in July 2008, It is 23rd most populous in Iowa. Its area is just over 10.26 mi˛ (26.57 sq km), it is the 28th largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa.
