Newport City, Jackson County, Arkansas is a city located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Newport City is home to 7811 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 7404, It is the 44th largest in terms of population. The city comprises an area of 13.3 mi˛ (34.45 sq km), of which, 13.03 square miles (33.75 sq km) of it is land and 0.27 square miles (0.7 sq km) of it is water, making it the 36th largest by size in Arkansas.
