Newnan City is a United States city located in the Coweta County, Georgia, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 16242 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 30474, It is the 45th largest in terms of population. The city comprises an area of 18.1 mi˛ (46.88 sq km), of which, 17.92 square miles (46.41 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, making it Georgia's 33rd largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 16242 people in the city, organized into 5939 households, and 3974 families residing in the city. The population density was 906.4 people per square mile (349.96/km˛), it would be the 159th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Georgia.
