Newaygo County is a county in the United States of Michigan. It is home to over 47874 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 48897, It is the 36th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Michigan. The county has a total area of 861.39 miē (2230.99 kmē), of which, 842.37 square miles (2181.73 kmē) of it is land and 19.03 square miles (49.29 kmē) of it is water, it is the 36th largest in terms of geographical size.
