New Stanton Borough, Pennsylvania


New Stanton Borough is one of the borough of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 1906 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 2099, It is 642nd most populous in Pennsylvania. It covers total area of 3.98 sq mi (10.31 sq km), of which, 3.93 square miles (10.18 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 149th largest by total area among Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1906 residents, 870 households, and 509 families in the borough. The population density was 484.5 people per square mile (187.07/kmē), it is the 204th least densely populated borough in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. There were 957 housing units at an average density of 243.5 per square mile (94.02/kmē). The average household size was 2.1 people, and the average family size was 2.72 people. In the New Stanton Borough, 16.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.4% were 18 to 24, 32.3% were 25 to 44, 27.2% were 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males. The median age of the borough's population was 40.2 years, The median age of males was 38.3 years, for females the median age was 42.2 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 96.22% White, 1.89% Black or African American, 0.05% American Indian, 0.73% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.68% from two or more races and 0.42% Other races.
